Bread: top best healthiest bread in India

Image Source - Google | Image by - macadamsnigeria

Bread is very much a part of diet of an average Indian, but which bread do you eat? Bonn, Britannia, harvest gold, English oven or mother dairy, but which is the healthiest bread in the Indian market?

To find out the best bread in the Indian market I bought almost every bread available online and offline. After thoroughly going through every ingredient on them, I have categorised all breads into four major categories.

Category 1-

This category includes the white breads by Bonn, English oven, harvest gold, mother dairy etc. Now, these brands have not even a single ingredient in them which can be called healthy. From 100% maida to refined vegetable oils to preservatives, emulsifiers, flour improvers, acidity regulators and what not. Unfortunately all these breads are also the most popular among the Indians. However, if you care little about your health; these white breads should strictly not be a part of your diet.

Category 2-

This category includes brown bread by English oven, mother dairy, Britannia, Atta bread by English oven, multigrain bread by English oven and Bonn herbs and seeds bread. All these brands wish to sell their breads to people who are seeking healthy breads but simply do not want to make an effort to make them. well they have labelled their breads as brown, wheat and atta bread but the real story get revealed when you turn the packet; yes all these so-called wheat breads have maida as their major ingredient and not to forget the preservatives, food colours and unwanted additives added in them. In my opinion these brands deserve a award and recognition for confusing their customer for creating three different variants of bread with exactly the same ingredients, they surely not worth your money and health.

Category 3-

This category includes 100% whole wheat bread by Bonn, Britannia, English oven, La Americana; all wheat breads by harvest gold and also the multi grain breads by Bonn, Britannia and harvest gold are absolutely free from maida. These commercial breads are surely better than the ones mentioned in the previous 2 categories. However, most of them do have preservatives, improvers, emulsifiers and refined oils added in them. If you have no option but to go with these commercial breads, I would suggest La Americana as it has no preservatives. Harvest gold would be my second choice as comparatively it has less number of additives. Bonn would be placed third, Britannia and English oven would be least preferred.

Category 4-

This category includes the breads by Bakers dozen, Whole wheat bread by the Coco company and whole wheat breads by paushtaa. Undoubtedly, these are way better than the breads in all previous categories but are still not 100% up to the mark. For example - the Bakers doesn't uses whole wheat butter and yeast to make bread but it does have flour strengthener, sugar and salt. The coco companies whole wheat bread has bread improver, vegetable oil, sugar and salt. Paushtaa definitely stands out as it is made from organic whole wheat, cold pressed sunflower oil, yeast and wheat bran; Had they added rock salt instead of table salt, it would have been 100% perfect.

However, paushtaa has definitely taken the effort to make something really worth your health. Surely these breads are best in the Indian market but are still far from the everyday roti that you eat at your home. Moreover, their supply is also limited to certain cities; then there are also brands like the bread company and the American bagel that charge you a fortune which claims to make Healthiest of breads but backstab you when you look at their ingredients. Well if you are looking for a bread without any compromise and just like roti, you have to even make a bread at home.

Homemade bread recipe-

Take about 300 grams of whole wheat flour in any big bowl and make a space in the centre. Now in the centre add rock salt mishri powder and instant dry yeast and also add lukewarm water and mix the ingredients properly. Now add about 2 tablespoons of cold pressed sesame oil and with the help of lukewarm water neet a soft dough. Grease your hand with some oil and keep neeting until the dough gets soft, it will take about 6 to 7 minutes. Now take a bread mould, not the aluminium one. Of course you are aware that aluminium is thyrotoxic, even avoid the so called stainless steel bread moulds coated with non stick Teflon, Instead use a 100% safe glass mould.

Grease the glass mould with some oil or butter, place the dough in the mould and spread it evenly. Now, apply some oil over the dough then cover the container and keep aside in a warm place. you can actually keep it in your cupboard for faster fermentation, within 2 to 3 hours the dough will get double in its size. Now the dough is ready to be baked, you can sprinkle some sesame seeds if you wish. For baking we will take a kadhai on high flame, put about half kg of salt into it. This salt will help our kadhai mimic and oven and it can be used many times, keep a small bowl or a stand inside. Now, cover the kadhai and let it heat for about 10 minutes then carefully place the mould inside.

Now, cover the kadhai and let it bake until it gets golden brown. To check, insert a knife inside the bread if it comes out clean then the bread is ready. After you take out the bread allow it to cool about 10 to 15 minutes then run a knife along all sides to separate the bread from the mould and place it on a board or plate. Now spread ghee over bread then cut the bread slices and enjoy the bread; Without any unwanted additives, the homemade bread is actually more filling.

Why are so many additives added in commercial breads? Is it not possible to bake bread without them?

Of course it's possible but these brands choose not to. if you go through the ingredients of any commercial bread; you would find emulsifiers, preservatives improvers, regulators, colours and various agents added in the form of numbers. All these have little yet specific functions to perform which reduces the baking time and enhances the texture, colours, softness and shelf life of the bread baked. Basically, these numbered ingredients do not have a healthy value but a commercial value; Actually, they cost your health. example - the improver 923 and 1104 added in English oven and Britannia respectively have already been banned by European Union for their adverse side effects. even other such additives are known to have a bad name, What worse is that the source of these chemical additives is completely hidden from the consumers.

Face moisturizer: Top 5 best Indian moisturizers

Image Source - Google | Image by - Jeanna Hofmeister

No matter what your skin type is, a mousturizer is an indispensable part of any skin care routine. However it is even more important to choose a mousturizer which is free from harsh chemicals, suits your skin type and is also budget friendly and if you thought that toxin free products are always costly, then let us break the myth. Today I am going to share with you 5 Daily moisturizers which are 100% safe and are under ₹299.

What product do you use to moisturize your face, have you ever gone through its ingredients list? You will be shocked to know that 9 out of 10 brands in India are simply using captivating words like wrinkle free, anti aging but selling nothing more than toxic. These products have parabens, skin irritants, skin penetrators and even carcinogen chemicals. Such moisturisers may provide short term relief but damage the skin in the long run. There are brands that sell you toxin in the name of ayurveda and herbal.

Let me tell you that there are many brands in the market which may try to confuse you with the name of toxin free, natural and all that good stuff but when you look at their ingredient list then you are left disappointed. However there are some startup brands which are genuinely making toxin free products, I salute each one of them for their effort although not everybody can afford them. So to resolve this issue I have researched and found 5 daily moisturizers which are not only 100% natural but also quiet budget friendly.

The 5 best natural face moisturizers are-

1. Neev kumkumadi face moisturizer-

If you are looking for a moisturizer in are cream form without missing out on the benefits of ayurvedic kumkumadi tel. so this is the one for you and mind you it is not one of those so called kumkumadi creams floating around in the Indian market. If you compare it with its commercial rival apart from thumbping their chest about kumkumadi tel, all we see is that most ingredients are hidden in a cream base and on top of it harsh preservatives like DMDM hi dentine are also added.

Well surely is far from ayurvedic, instead of hiring big celebrities if they had invested a little more on their research it could have lived up to their bold ayurvedic claims. On the other hand, neevs kumkumadi face moisturizer is made from kumkumadi tel along with other essential oils and safe preservatives, no sulphates, no parabens, no ETAs, no cosmetic colours or artificial fragrances. If you have dry, sensitive aur even normal skin then this product is worth putting your hands on, 100 ml of it will cost you ₹300.

2. Greenworth pure aloe vera gel-

If you have a very oily skin, aloe vera gel is probably the best moisturizer for you. due to it's cooling, non greasy gel like texture, it is highly effective in soothing acne and other inflammatory skin disorders. but why greenworth pure aloe vera gel? Why not patanjali aloe vera gel which is way cheaper and easily available, well the answer lies in their ingredients. If you check, patanjali aloevera gel has 90% aloe vera while the 10% base material consists of cosmetic colours, fragrance and preservatives, What preservatives have been used is unclear. however this much is clear that it is toxic, the synthetic colours and fragrance can irritate sensitive skin readily and can damage skin type in long run. So if you have been using this popular aloe vera gel then it's time to change it.

Why just blame patanjali, during the research of this topic I was rather shocked to know that most brands are adding harsh chemicals to a product which can easily be sold in its pure form with some safe preservatives. For example this amazon's bestseller aloe Vera gel by Indus valley has carbomer in it, urban botanics aloevera gel has propylene glycol that's where greenworth pure aloe vera gel stands apart as along with aloe vera extract. It has glycerine, xanthan gum which is a safe plant base thickener, vitamin e and safe preservatives like sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate and it is quite pocket friendly, 200 ml of it will cost you ₹230.

3. Santulan Radha face oil-

It is made by using milk, curd and 30 effective herbs in a base of coconut oil, this is an ayurvedic formulation handcrafted specially for face skin. If you have somehow damaged your skin by using toxic products then a product like this Can definitely bring back the lost lusture, being oil based moisturizing the skin is just a parallel effect of it.

It has many skin friendly like herbs like gulab, nimba, anantmool and neelkamal that find an elaborate mention in ayurvedic text like bhavya prakash nighantu. This beauty oil can actually help you to get rid of acne, pigmentation and dark spots. Simply take a few drop of it and gently massage it all over the face, 50 ml of santulan Radha face oil will cost you ₹225, considering the quality of its ingredients it worths the price.

4. Indus valley brightening gel-

It is another toxin free option for people who have oily skin, unlike Indus valleys aloe vera gel. Surprisingly this product has no harmful chemicals that is why I always recommend checking the ingredients of the product rather than blindly following any brand. Indus valleys this moisturizing gel is made from organic tea tree oil, cow yogurt, grape food seed extract, organic rose water, wheat germ oil, honey, thickeners like cellulose and guar gum and mild preservatives like potassium sorbate and benzyl alcohol.

Since it is a tea tree oil based product it can effectively be used for acne prone skin, honey and cow yogurt are both well known for brightening the skin. If you have dry skin in that case these gel based moisturizers can come handy for you in the summer season, 50 ml of Indus valleys this non greasy gel will cost you ₹250.

5. Kumkumadi tailam-

It is a classical ayurvedic formulation which is carefully prepared centuries ago specially for uplifting the health of face skin. Kumkumadi tailam finds mention in 2 ayurvedic texts, Ashtang hridyam and Bhayshajya ratnavali. A wonderful blend of saffron, sandalwood, goat milk, Jasmine and almost 20 other herbs. It is not just natural moisturizer but it is a wholesome beauty product. It is well known for its anti-aging properties that is why you can see, today many brands simply marketing their products on its name but this is the original.

It is often recommended to get rid of pigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, blackheads, pimples, blemishes and even in treating skin infections and conditions like eczema. Simply take a few drops of it and apply it on your face gently massaging all over, it works way better than that so-called moisturizing creams in the market. Kumkumadi tailam can be used by all skin types although it works best for sensitive and dry flaky skin, 30 ml of this kumkumadi tailam will cost you ₹260 and will easily run through one season.

Honey: best honey brands in Indian market

Image Source - Google | Image by - mishry

Which Honey do you use? Dabur Honey, patanjali honey, 24 mantra or some raw honey. For this blog I have got the most popular Honey brands lab tested in an NABL accredited lab in Germany to get a clear picture, if they are really pure or adult rated. Honey is a tricky product as almost every brand mentions just one ingredient which is honey and to find out if the honey is really pure, there are many tests that people recommend.

Putting a spoonful honey in plain water or checking the speed at which Honey falls from the spoon or lighting a matchstick in front of a honey. Literally there are numerous but all these tests are nothing as compared to the nuclear magnetic resonance test, commonly called the NMR test which is recognised as the gold standard test for checking the purity of honey not only in India but across the globe. It is also the most expensive lab test with FSSAI aguidelines, not being very strict and honey being easy to adult rate brands take undue advantage of it.

This happened in the October of 2018 when a volunteer action group tested 10 most popular brands of honey then and almost every brand had failed the C4 sugar test. Basically, C4 sugar test is a preliminary test to detect foreign adult rated sugars in honey. Unfortunately the brands easily got away by blaming the test itself without any serious repercussion. So to put out a clear picture in the present scenario, I thought it would be best to get the honeys retested not just for C4 sugars but also the gold standard NMR test.

Category 1-

This category includes the two most popular brands, dabur Honey and patanjali honey, majority population in India consumes one of these two honeys. To check if the purity is really guaranteed, first I got lab tested them for C3/C4 sugars which both the brands had failed in 2018 but this time around both the brands passed with the flying colours. So, according to this test it seems that both these brands have not adult rated there honey with other foreign sugar syrups but since it is an entry level test and also as it comes under the guidelines of FSSAI, it was not surprising that they had passed it. Now to be 100% sure, I decided to get them lab tested for the ultimate test which is the NMR test. So, this time the samples were send to Germany because as of now, In India there is not any lab that does this test.

The reports came in after 15 days and guess what, both dabur Honey and patanjali Honey failed the NMR test, As you can see it clearly shows that both dabur Honey and patanjali Honey are adult rated. Now even though NMR is one of the most advanced test, I did not want to rush to conclusions and also I wanted to know that what exactly are they adulterated with. So to dive deeper into this, I consulted multiple experts as per what can be the next step to find out the root cause. Finally I got them lab tested for TMR test, expanded as trace Marker for rice syrup test as adding rice syrup is one of the most sophisticated form of adulteration done in honeys. The reports came in after about a week and both dabur Honey and patanjali honey were found to be adult rated with rice syrups. yes the report clearly mentioned that an unauthorised addition of rice syrup was detected in them.

Then, I also got them tested for another important test that even FSSAI misses out of; the pollen analysis test, this test shows where exactly the honey is sourced from. The result says that the patanjali Honey is a blossom honey extracted from multiple flowers of Indian origin. However, no conclusive result could be drawn for dabur Honey as it does not have enough Pollen to meet the criteria. Low Pollen count indicates that dabur might have done ultrafiltration of honey, filtering out the pollens. This reduces the nutritional value of the honey and does not let the honey get crystallized. So all these test proved without an iota of doubt that both these honeys are not pure as they market and claim.

Category 2-

This category includes 24 mantra organic wild honey and farm natural jungle Honey. They both were Amazon best sellers but priced high, look promising and make tall claims of pure, raw and wild honey. I got both of them lab tested for the NMR test and I was truly shocked to find that even they two are adult rated. The reports clearly state that these Honey indicates the addition of sugar syrup, this is very disappointing. Tall statements like no antibiotics used, certified organic, wildflower honey from Jim Corbett jungles of uttarakhand; stand meaningless if they end up adding sugar syrup in their honey. On top of it they charge a fortune, so don't waste your money on them.

Category 3-

This category includes zandu honey which is truly pure and unadulterated. Zandu Honey is the only product which when I got lab tested, it successfully passed the ultimate NMR test, It clearly shows that zandu honey is unadultrated. 1 kg of zandu honey will cost you ₹540 which is almost double the price of dabur and patanjali honey but considering the pure honey in such a messed up market, it's totally worth it. I even scroll down to the review section on Amazon of this honey and found many people claiming it's crystallizing nature. This is one point I wish to address is, most people consider that if a honey is getting crystallized that means it has added sugar in it.

Actually it's quite the opposite; pure, unadulterated honey will always gets crystallized when kept for a long time due to presence of Pollens in it. Then, during the research of this topic I contacted many brands who make honey and asked them if they could produce the NMR test for their honey, most brands could not get back to me. Although one brand, Dadev honey was able to produce their NMR report which shows that it is unadultrated.

1 kg of Dadev forest honey will cost you ₹630, although it comes in a plastic container but still it is much better choice then that so called pure commercial honeys in the Indian market. Well, you can always transfer it to an air tight glass bottle; So both Zandu and Dadev honey are unadulterated and are the best in Indian market. However, this does not mean that all other honeys in the Indian market are adult rated or sub standard. Obviously, due to budget constraints I could not get all the honeys lab tested, I tried to pick up the most relevant ones for the audience.

Detan: best remedy to detan your skin

Image Source - Google | Image by - timesofindia

Why does our body tan?

Tanning is a natural way to protect your body from the sun's ultraviolet rays.  If there is no tanning, the harsh UV rays of the sun will damage your skin tissues as sunburn.  Due to excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays, our skin cells produce a pigment called melanin, this melanin leads to tanning.

Although it is not about fair skin or dark skin, it is a matter of bringing back your original skin tone.  How to remove the layer of dead skin cells on the skin, which comes due to excessive sunlight?  How to get healthy and glowing skin?  I want to share with you a tried and tested home remedy, a homemade face mask which removes tanning naturally in only one wash.

Home Remedy-

First take one tablespoon of besan.  Besan has been used for centuries for detaining and skin brightening, Besan's amazing cleansing properties will greatly enhance the radiance of your face.  Now put one tablespoon of curd in it because lactic acid is found in the curd so that it acts as a natural bleaching agent.  The next ingredient you need is a little turmeric, due to its antimicrobial and anti-aging properties, it repairs the damaged skin cells and lightens the skin tone.  Now put a teaspoon of honey in it, honey opens the skin pores and removes the accumulated dirt inside them.  Rich in antioxidants, natural moisturizer and soother, honey increases skin glow, you can use any honey.

Now you have to add half teaspoon of pure sandalwood powder, natural oils are present in the sandalwood which reduces sun tan very effectively, You will find sandalwood powder at any grocery shop.  Now we will add a little rose water to the last so that it becomes a thick paste, rose water cleanses the skin pores and is also a natural toner.  Now mix all these ingredients well so that a smooth paste like consistency is formed.

Now your magical detan face pack is ready, apply this mixture on your face and the rest of the tan body parts with your clean hands, apply a light massage in circular motion for 1 to 2 minutes with your fingers.  Once the pack looks evenly, just let it do its work for 20 to 30 minutes, finally wash it with fresh water, you will see the difference in just one wash.

The truth about fairness creams in Indian market?

No detan or fairness cream can give you the result that this face pack will give you.  Most companies use only one or two natural ingredients and put so many harsh chemicals along with them, leave the benefit it turns into a loss.  So, please do not waste your money on such creams and adopt this simple home remedy.  Since childhood, if I have applied anything on my face for tan removal, then this is the pack.  Yes, now you do not even need to avoid the sun, go out and play, turn around, basically enjoy the sun because now you know that tanning is not a problem for you.

How to apply this remedy?

If you want, you can apply it everyday, you can apply it any time of the day and it has no side effects.  It's best if you apply it 30 to 40 minutes before bathing, it does not matter whether you are dark or fair if your skin is healthy and you are wearing a lovely smile then it will glow naturally.

Bathing soap: best bathing soap in Indian

Image Source - Google | Image by - Ayushi khandelwal

Which soap do you use?  lux, synthol, dove or pears, if yes, you probably never checked your soaps ingredient list.  Most soaps in the market contain so many toxic chemicals that a common man does not know.  Everything from strong detergent to hazardous alcohol to petroleum products to pesticides is added to soap.  The sad thing is that the soap we trust the most contains most dangerous chemicals among them.  For this blog, I thoroughly checked the most popular and latest list of latest launched soaps in 2020 and divided all these soaps into 3 categories.

Category 1-

This category has almost all commercial soaps like Dettol, pears, fiama devils, Park avenue, vivel, lux, lifebuoy and all other brands which are most used in Indian homes.  All these soaps have the most harsh chemicals such as sulphates, parabens, artificial colors, artificial fragrance, whatever you can think of, you will find it in this category of soaps.  Yes, but some have fewer chemicals and some have more but all are toxic, the worst ingredient is fragrance.

I would even say to check the ingredients of your soap, if you find perfume or fragrance written anywhere in it, then stop using it because it is a brand patent on fragrances, so no need to tell them too that how many dangerous chemicals are used in it.  Studies show that an artificial fragrance can contain more than 200 undisclosed chemicals, chemicals that can damage your skin and internal body in the long term, so all the soaps mentioned in this category are worst and you should never use them.

Category 2-

This category contains lever ayush soaps, khadi soap, patanjali lemon neem soaps and biotique soap.  These are the soaps that are marketed as if they are some very natural ayurvedic soaps, but these companies also panic about listing the complete ingredients list of the soap.  Apart from mentioning two or three herbs, almost 90% ingredient is mentioned under a soap base, which the common customer could not get any information about, if they are using really good ingredients then what is the problem in telling them.  Well, even though ayush has hidden maximum ingredients, but it is clear that he has used synthetic colors, do not know where written in Ayurveda about synthetic colors.

Khadi soaps may have placed double the price in the name of natural but it has disappointed in the ingredients.  The same Patanjali's neem lemon soap has harsh alcohols and colors added to it.  Similarly, biotique has given only 6% of the ingredients.  Overall, avoid such soap because you do not know what is put in it and what is not.

Category 3-

The best soaps come in this category such as kaprica coconut oil base soaps, coconess cedar and patchouli soap, neev charcoal soap, speaking tree coffee handmade soap and ancient living luxury handmade soap.  Kaprica's coconut oil base soaps are toxin free and above all, a good budget friendly option, a soap of Kaprica will cost you only ₹ 60.  Charcoal soaps are trending a lot these days obviously because charcoal detoxifies the skin but there are only a few brands that make toxin free charcoal soaps.

Neev is also one of the toxin free charcoal soaps, apart from activated charcoal it has neither SLS, nor parabens nor any synthetic color or fragrance.  So if you really want to give your skin the benefits of activated charcoal, then use neev charcoal soap, not so called charcoal soaps which are dodging you with artificial colors.  This 75 gram soap of Neev will cost you ₹ 100, then ancient living kasturi turmeric soap, Tulsi soap and Multani mitti soap, these are three toxin free options, you can choose any of them according to your skin type and budget.

No synthetic colors, fragrance, preservatives, detergents or animal products were also added to the coffee handmade soap of the speaking tree.  Another good thing about this soap is that this soap is suitable for all skin types and is so soft that it can be applied on the face as well.  You will have ₹ 180 of coffee exfoliating soap of speaking tree.  If you have sensitive skin, meaning if you have skin rashes, burning or itching then coconess cedar and patchouli soap is a good option for you.  This is because cedar and patchouli are two essential oils that are considered best for sensitive skin.

110 grams of coconess cedar and patchouli soap will cost you ₹ 185, if we compare khadi with patchouli soap, which may be cheaper but where khadi has not given a complete ingredient list and has added cosmetic colors, coconess cedar and patchouli soap is 100% natural and safe overall. The products mentioned in this category are best.

Whey protein vs Protein x: which one is best

Image Source - Google | Image by - Groundedguy

Why our body need protein?

Protein is one of the most important micronutrients for proper functioning of our body.  A 60 kg common person, who does not do workouts, works by sitting all day, his body also needs 50 to 60 grams of protein daily.  But when your goal is to build muscle, then the protein requirement increases even more.  If you are a vegetarian and remain busy, it becomes very difficult to fulfill the protein requirement and then you feel the need to buy protein supplements. There are a lot of protein supplements in the Indian market today, among them whey protein and protein x are the most popular.  Let's compare both whey protein and protein x today on their nutritional information, price and other factors and find out which one is really better.  Along with this, we will also discuss Is whey protein is safe, what it is made of, when to drink it, when not to drink it and much more.

Whey protein-

Whey protein is a type of protein derived from milk.  You must have noticed that when we ejaculate the milk by adding lemon juice or vinegar, the cheese comes out of it and a green colored water remains, just from this water, whey protein is extracted.  So clear that whey protein is a 100% vegetarian source of protein which is safe for both men and women.  A serving of Whey Protein is mostly 100 gram, will give you 120 calorie, 1 gram fat, 3 gram carbohydrate, 1 gram sugar and 24 gram high quality protein.  Now because whey protein has no carbs and fat, it is a lean source of protein.  The benefit of consuming Lean source of protein is that it gets absorbed in the body very quickly, due to which it helps a lot in both muscle building or fat loss.

Comparing whey protein with protein x-

Now if we compare this with a serving of protein x, which is 30 grams, it will give you 105 calories, 9.6 gram protein, 16.4 gram carbohydrates, 9.3 gram sugar, almost no fat and some vitamins and minerals.  It is clear from all these things that, protein x is not a lean source of protein, but in protein x you are getting 9 grams of sugar along with 9 grams of protein.  In a serving of Whey Protein, you are getting only protein whereas in protein x serving you will get half protein and half sugar.

Why people mostly prefer protein x?

There may be a reason that people do not have much knowledge about it, but the biggest reason is the price difference of these two.  Where 250 grams of protein x box is available for ₹ 375, while 900 grams of optimum nutrition gold standard gives 900 grams of protein for ₹ 3000, because it is an American brand, it is so expensive due to the custom duty etc.  So you can say that whey protein box is 2.5 times more expensive than protein x.

Some basic calculations-

Whey protein-

900 grams of whey protein costs ₹ 3000, means 1 gram of whey protein was of ₹ 3000 ÷ 900, means ₹ 3.33.  Now a serving of whey protein is 30 grams, if we calculate the cost of one serving of whey protein, it will cost ₹ 3.33 × 30, meaning ₹ 100.  A serving of whey protein, which is costing you ₹ 100, will give you 24 grams of protein, then 1 gram of protein was ₹ 100 ÷ 24, meaning 1 gram of whey protein was of ₹ 4.1.

Protein x-

250 grams of protein x was ₹ 375, meaning 1 gram of protein x was ₹ 375 ÷ 250, ₹ 1.5.  A serving of protein x is only 30 grams, so 30 grams of protein x was ₹ 375 ÷ 250 × 30, ₹ 45.  Which is definitely cheaper than whey protein but here's one thing to see, this one serving of protein x, which is of ₹ 45, will give you 9.6 gram protein, assuming it is 10 grams of protein.  So 1 gram protein was of ₹ 4.5, it was no surprise.  So it has become clear that the protein you are getting from protein x is more expensive than whey protein.  if you do the same calculation with 5 lbs whey protein, which is about ₹ 5500, then you will get 1 gram of protein for only ₹ 3।

To buy Whey Protein, even if you have to pay more in starting, but in the long run you will find whey protein cheaper.  The most important thing is that, whey protein will give you the highest quality protein which will give you fast results in muscle building.

Why I am calling whey protein, a high quality protein?

First of all, it is the lean source of protein that we have already discussed.  Second, because whey protein comes out of milk, so it is the complete source of protein, which contains 9 essential amino acids.  If you also check its ingredients, then the first ingredient is whey protein isolate.  The only ingredient that should not have been in it is this artificial sweetener, Acesulfame potassium.  Its daily recommended intake is 15 mg / kg / day of bodyweight.  Because Acesulfame potassium is 200 times sweeter than normal sugar, it is very little, so if you limit whey protein to one to two scoop a day, you will not have any problem.  By the way, if you want to stay away from artificial sweetener and artificial flavors, then you can also buy raw whey protein which is even cheaper.

On the other hand if you check the ingredients of protein x, the protein source of protein x is peanuts, which is not the complete source of protein.  From above, the carbs in it are coming from sugar, malt extract and maltodextrin, which are different names for sugar itself.  Even if you think of buying protein x diabetes care, it is behind both price and quality in comparison to whey protein, Protein x has some vitamins and minerals definitely a plus point.  If you have already bought protein x or want to use it, then I would say take it with post workout milk.  But here whey protein is concerned, for maximum benefit, take it by mixing it in post workout, water only.

According to me whey protein is a much better option than protein x.  If you have serious muscle building goals and the daily protein requirement is not being fulfilled, then think of buying whey protein and the most important thing you have to keep in mind while buying whey protein is to buy it from an authorized retailer.

Toothpaste: Best toothpastes in Indian market

Image Source - Google | Image by - Prakash Thakur

Healthy teeth and gums are very important for our overall health.  But which toothpaste do you use?  Colgate, pepsodent, close up or patanjali dant kanti.  For this topic I thoroughly checked the ingredients of the latest launched toothpaste in 2020, along with the most popular toothpastes.  After analyzing, I have divided all these toothpastes into 3 categories.

Category 1-

Most commercial toothpastes fall under this category such as Colgate, pepsodent, close up, patanjali dant kanti and sensodyne.  These are the best-selling toothpastes in the Indian market, even for the majority of people, the second name of toothpaste is Colgate.  But most people do not know that toothpaste like Colgate, contains very dangerous chemicals such as sodium lauryl sulphate. I would say that if you find sodium lauryl sulphate written in the ingredient list of your toothpaste then immediately pick it up and throw it in the dustbin.

If you often have mouth ulcers, one big reason could be SLS in your toothpaste.  Basically SLS is an insecticide that has been banned in many countries because of its use in cosmetics products.  Continuous use of SLS based toothpaste can cause deposits in the heart, liver, lungs and brain.  Therefore, please stop using toothpastes like Colgate, pepsodent, close up which have SLS mentioned.

Now let's talk about Fluoride, which in addition to these three has also been inserted in patanjali dant kanti and sensodyne.  Yes, some dentists definitely recommend fluoride as it helps prevent tooth decay, some studies are also in favour and some are against.  However, we cannot hide the truth that fluoride is poisonous, so much so that a 2.8 gram fluoride can kill a 50 kg man and think about young childrens, they are in the habit of eating toothpaste.  This is the reason why brands have to write such warnings on toothpaste packs.

Our mouth absorbs things very quickly, so even if you do not ingest deliberately, some content will definitely go away with toothpaste in your blood stream.  Such Fluoridated toothpaste can be a problem in the long run.  I neither use fluoridated toothpaste myself nor will I recommend it to you.

Category 2-

This category includes Himalaya sparkling white toothpaste, dabur meswak, dabur babool, red toothpaste, ayush rock salt toothpaste.  All these toothpastes are better than category 1 because they do not contain fluoride, yes they are all non fluoridated toothpaste.  Although some harsh chemicals have been added to many of these toothpastes such as Himalayan toothpaste have SLS, dabur babool and meswak both have SLS and artificial colors, preservatives have been added in dabur red.

Dabur meswak has also added triclosan, which is so dangerous chemical that they have already been banned in soaps.  Ayush rock salt toothpaste has artificial colors and preservative added.  Yes, let me tell you that the toothpaste of every ayush brand is not fluoride free like fluoride has been added to their clove toothpaste, that's why I say that always buy the product by reading the ingredients list and not by looking at the brand.  So, toothpastes of this category are fluoride free but not completely harsh chemical free.

Category 3-

The best toothpastes fall into this category such as earthly natural toothpaste of bentodent, biomed propoline toothpaste and advanced ayurved toothpaste of biotique.  If you check their ingredients, then they have mentioned their ingredient list very clearly and they do not contain any harsh chemical, neither sulfate, nor fluoride, nor any artificial flavours, colors or preservatives.  See the ingredients of bentodent, it is made from calcium bentonite, salt, stevia, menthol, peppermint and tea tree essential oil.  The ingredients of biomed are also absolutely safe, biotique has differentiated itself from the rest of its product in its advanced ayurved toothpaste, it is 100% safe.

Definitely all these toothpastes are absolutely toxin free but 50 to 100 rupees more expensive than commercial toothpaste, they are absolutely worth looking at the quality ingredients.  However, if you are looking for budget friendly options, you can use herbal tooth powders, they are also easily found in the market.  Among these, patanjali, baidyanath and Dabur are the best options.  When you mix herbal powder with oil and rub it on the teeth and gums with your fingers, the veins that are connected to the gums with the digestive system, gets activated and digestion improves.  By the way, if you are not comfortable to rub herbal powder with finger, then you can also apply brush on it.  Rest if you start using neem toothbrush even 1 day in a week, then your oral health will improve a lot.

Chest fat: lose chest fat naturally, 3 simple tips

Image Source - Google| Image by - Krishblog

First of all, you have to find out what really is your problem, man boobs or chest fat ?  It is really easy to find out if you really have gynecomastia, which is a medical condition in which just some extra fat has accumulated in your chest area.  The symptoms of Gynecomastia and chest fat are completely different.  Where in gynecomastia something resembles a hard lump on the chest portion, on the other hand, chest fat has a soft fatty skin, gynecomastia is mostly concentrated on the nipples, but the chest fat spreads throughout the chest.

Research suggests that the problem of gynecomastia usually comes from people who use anabolic steroids or consume alcohol excessively or are on excessive medication.  Sometimes, when puberty is reached in teenage, hormonal changes occur, due to which the problem may come but it is mostly temporary.  While chest fat is made from bad food, poor lifestyle, but the good news is that gynecomastia is a rare condition.  While chest fat is quite common, the maximum chance is that you do not have a problem with gynecomastia but chest fat has accumulated and for this you neither need to see any doctor nor do any surgery.

3 easy steps to lose chest fat-

1. Reduce overall body fat-

Everyone's body has its tendency to gain fat, more fat stops on one's chest, then on one's thighs, then on one's arms, there is no spot reduction.  Therefore, if you reduce the overall body fat percentage of your body, then your chest fat will be reduced automatically.  The most important factor to reduce the overall body fat percentage is correct eating, no hard-core dieting is needed.  Focusing only on low calories is not necessarily the right way to lose weight.

Calories are coming from which food , it is very important for overall health, there is no need to count calories by taking a calculator.  Eat simple homemade food, take balanced diet, don't do overeating, avoid outside oily or fried food, replace healthy sweeteners with refined sugar, avoid GMO foods, try to complete your dinner by 7pm,  Keep sleep proper and do regular workouts, if you do this, then your fat reduction will definitely happen and when fat is reduced then the chest fat will also be reduced.

2. Chest workout-

I have seen that people who have chest fat problem intentionally miss their chest workout, thinking that doing chest workouts will increase man boobs, but it does not happen.  Rather, when you hit the chest muscles from every angle, then there will be break of muscle fibers, there will be increase in blood circulation in the chest so that the chest will come in the right shape, so do chest workings twice a week if possible.  If you cannot go to the gym for any reason, then it is fine that you can tab every part of the chest comfortably at home, there is hardly any exercise better than push up for the chest.

3. Boost testosterone naturally-

Everything in our body is connected to each other, if you are feeling like your chest is like females, then it is possible that your body's testosterone level is low.  Fat loss in males also becomes difficult due to low testosterone, so if you naturally boost testosterone, not only your fat loss become  easy, but your chest and other body parts will come in a manly shape.  The best way to boost testosterone is to never miss a leg workout, only a leg workout increases testosterone very fast.  Give proper rest to the body, make it a habit to sleep early at night so that you can sleep soundly. do not remain stressed out, this also reduces testosterone.

Summary-

Of course chest fat can be a bit embarrassing, but don't take tension. This is not a serious problem, it will be easy if you are determined and adopt these steps well.  So friends, accept this condition and take a challenge and solve it permanently.

How to increase testosterone levels naturally: 6 tips

Image Source - Google | Image by - lowtcenter

Testosterone is the most important hormone for males, if testosterone is reduced in the body, it has many side effects such as obesity, lack of muscle growth, slow hair growth, slow beard growth, weak sex power and overall body strength Drop.  By the way, testosterone in males continuously increases from 25 to 30 years of age and then gradually decreases after the age of 40 years.  Because in today's modern lifestyle, people do not have healthy eating habits, due to which testosterone starts decreasing from teenage itself, due to which problems like weight gain, lethargy, hair fall, no muscle increase.

Often people start taking testosterone steroidal injection to build up their body quickly which can have a lot of side effects like hair loss, kidney disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, sevre acne, shrinking of testicles, irritability etc.  When we start injecting testosterone from outside, our body stops making testosterone on its own, due to which the hormonal balance of the body gets spoiled and problems like hair fall start coming, so boosting testosterone is very important but naturally.

The 6 natural testosterone booster tips are-

1. Shilajit and Ashwagandha-

Shilajit and Ashwagandha are natural things that boost testosterone in a tremendous way, without any side effects, you can add them to your diet as a supplement.  Both should be taken in hot milk, half an hour before bedtime, I will suggest that you take ashwagandha in summer season and take a little shilajit in winters.

Buy organic Ashwagandha powder: https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B01MSCK6XT

2. Sunlight-

Very few people know that, there is great benefit in boosting testosterone with sun rays.  If your testosterone is low, then the doctor prescribes you a vitamin D pill first and there is no better source than the sun for taking vitamin D. Therefore, taking 15 to 20 minutes of sunlight in the morning or evening, the body's vitamin D increases, leading to testosterone boost.  Second, the benefit of taking sun rays is that it reduces the cortisol hormone of our body and scientists have proved that the lower the body's cortisol level, the higher the testosterone.  So make a routine and take the rays of the sun daily, this will greatly benefit.

3. Live stress free-

When we come under any kind of mental pressure like tension, fear or depression, the cortisol level of our body starts increasing and we have seen how testosterone starts to decrease when cortisol increases.  In today's modern lifestyle, stress is increasing in life, whether it is the stress of studies, office, emotional stress or anything else.  Stress has become a major cause of low testosterone and its related problems.  The happier you will be, the tension will be free, if you remain cool then your testosterone will be boosted the same, so meditate, enjoy a little nature, do some workouts, the stress will automatically decrease.

4. Workout-

The right kind of workout can increase your testosterone level very quickly.  Which workout to perform?  The best workout is weight training, if you do weight training then your testosterone level will jump right away.  Studies show that the higher the intensity of workouts, the more boost your testosterone will receive.  So a 45 minute to 1 hour workout is best without long gaps and yes don't miss leg days at all, leg exercises like deadlift, squats, lunges give testosterone an extra boost.

5. Food-

What to eat to boost testosterone?  Although balanced diet should always be taken, but it is very important to have zinc, vitamin d and healthy fats in the diet to boost testosterone.  Full fat milk, ghee, paneer, dry fruits, coconut, kidney beans, black chana, chickpeas, mushroom, seeds, whole grains, green vegetables, If you are taking all this in your diet then you do not need any supplements.  If you are non-vegetarian then you can also add eggs and meat to your diet.

What not to eat?  First of all, you need to  Reduce sugar, the more time you eat sugar, the more your insulin will spike and the less your testosterone will be.  Second, stay away from GMO (Genetically modified organism) foods, GMO i.e genetically modified plants and animals, whose DNA is changed for more production.  It has been observed that GMO foods increase the oestrogen hormone in the male body, reducing testosterone, which increases the risk of problems like man boobs.  Soyabean, corn, papaya, salmon are some of the foods that are mostly GMO, so buy GMO prone foods carefully.  Alcohol increases the oestrogen level in the body and lowers testosterone, so keep its intake low.

6. Sleepwell-

You must have noticed that when you get up from a good sleep, you are mentally very relaxed, your muscle definition is also better.  Its reason is that when your body gets proper rest then your test levels are the highest, so take 7 to 8 hours of sleep at night.  By the way, whenever it comes to sleep, quality is more important than quantity, sleep time between 10 pm to 4 am is considered to be the best.  To get better sleep, my suggestion is that one should maintain the fix time of sleep and second, keep your electronic gadgets away from yourself half an hour before bed.
